Middlesbrough's underground hardcore scene has hosted some amazing bands over the last few months, so tonight we are going to check out local favorites Marked for death..
If you have yet to encounter a proper hardcore event, then you really are missing out on what is one of the most interesting scenes around, most are unlike your average local gig, sometimes you'll catch bands not only from other parts of the UK and Europe, but these bands tour from as far as the US and Canada..
Arriving on site with lorry loads of Gear, Merchandise, and CDs that would almost put Linkin Park to shame, it may be DIY but it's certainly well organized and supported by the hordes of local's that are in attendance tonight...

I've seen Marked for death a few times, but not since the band supported Justice a few months back have I seen them up for a gig this much.
The band tear into a rather lethargic set due to ill health and healing limbs but they still manage to entertain us with the brutal humor courtesy of Ste (throat), and a whole new set of riffage from Metal Kev..
The band certainly seemed to have moved forward from promoting themselves as being shit, to actually being a decent Hardcore metal act that wouldn't look out of place on the roster over at Trustkill or something...

When your guitarist is called Metal Kev, is it possible to fail?

I think not.....

Richard
