Sanctity are Roadrunner’s newest signing, but as is apparent from their tight and confident sound, they are not a new band wallowing their way into the depths that is the metal music scene. Having toured heavily in previous years and gaining a reputation with fans and other bands alike, it is easy to see why the label has snapped them up, releasing this album to the masses.
The tracks hint at many different influences such as White Zombie, Slipknot and their current tour counterparts, Trivium. Combining a mix of fast, old style metal with raging solos, melodies and tuneful, yet heavy singing, Sanctity have a bold and interesting sound. The crunchy riffs and melodic hooks are instantly likeable and the choruses will have you humming along before you’ve even had time to learn the words.
Songs ‘Beneath the Machine’ and ‘Zeppo’ are prime examples of the band’s talents, harnessing epic choruses and pure metal musicianship to create truly memorable tracks. As mentioned before, they are currently touring with the likes of Trivium and Gojira on The Crusade European Tour. If their live performance matches the skill and determination of their album, Sanctity will certainly give the more established bands a run for their money.
